At the Washington Central Hotel we aim to offer high levels of hospitality to all our guests, regardless of any permanent or temporary disability, medical condition or other specific requirement. This Access Statement is designed to give you the information you need to assess how effectively we can meet your particular needs.
Prior to arrival
Reservations can be made by telephone or email or online. The hotel is located approximately 0.6 miles from Workington railway station and 0.2 miles from Workington bus stations. It is a level walk, but we can easily arrange a taxi for you on request. Wheelchair-suitable vehicles are available if necessary. Directions to the hotel can be found on the contact us page.
There are designated parking bays on the front hotel car park. Please inform us if you need a car parking space and we will reserve a space near the front door. There are no steps to the front door. Assistance with luggage is always available, and this can be collected from/delivered to your car if required. The reception is all on one level. All floors on the hotel are accessible by a lift.
The bar, bistro and residents lounge are all on the first floor which is accessible by a lift. . The Paris Restaurant is accessed via 3 steps; a stair lift is installed. The disabled toiler is located on the ground floor. Background music does play, albeit at a low level. The hotel does not have a hearing loop installed.
Central Spa and Gym
The Central Spa and Gym is on the ground floor and is accessible via no steps.
The hotel has bedrooms specifically designed for use by guests with impaired mobility; the bathroom is accessible with no steps and a walk in shower. The room is large with some space for turning and transfer space than others. Please let us know when you are booking if you have any requirements regarding size as our bedrooms do vary in shape and size.
All information such as menus, bedroom information and tariffs can be printed in larger fonts if so required. Service dogs are accepted at the hotel by prior arrangement. All diets can be catered for although advance notice is helpful.
We have tried to be accurate and as comprehensive as possible in the preparation of this Access Statement. All Staff are more than happy to assist in any way possible to ensure that you have a very enjoyable stay at the Washington Central Hotel.
