Cycling in Whinlatter Forest

Whilatter Forest is truly a playground for trail bikers and with its stunning views, rare wildlife and exhilarating biking routes, it’s no surprise why. Not only does the forest offer unrivalled views across Bassenthwaite Lake, Derwentwater and Keswick, but it is also home to the longest purpose-built mountain bike trails in the Lake District.

First timers fear not however, as you do not need to be an expert to take part. You can hire mountain bikes from our friends at Cyclewise, who also run family mountain-bike skills sections during the school holiday.
