This distillery is home to the Lake District’s first whisky, produced on the premises alongside their own gins and vodka. Take the distillery tour, with a brilliant fly-through which gives a bird’s eye view of Allerdale and the River Derwent from its source to the sea, eat lunch, snacks or dinner in the excellent bistro and make sure you treat yourself in the gift shop.
If you’re looking for something a bit different, there is also an alpaca tour offered by the Lakes Distillery. This half hour long experience allows you to pet, take photos with and even feed the alpacas, young and old.

The distillery is currently closed and expects to begin reopening the site from 12 April, with tours recommencing from 17 May.
